Our Mission
Circle of Change aspires to transform the lives of high-risk populations, including veterans, at-risk children, and first responders, by pioneering innovative dog training programs and evidence-based peer mentorship. We are dedicated to fostering resilience, cultivating social-emotional health, and empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives thus achieving a significant reduction in suicide risk.
Born From Community.
Driven by Recovery.
Circle of Change was founded on the belief that those who have served our community and country deserve a support system as dedicated as they are. Driven by the lived experiences and recovery of our founders and mentors, we provide a safe, non-judgmental space where healing happens naturally. We operate as a streamlined, mission-first organization. Without the weight of a corporate office, we focus our energy and resources entirely on the community. Every contribution goes directly toward the training, peer-support networks, and canine partnerships that help our local heroes and youth reclaim their wellness.
At Circle of Change, we understand the unique challenges faced by those who have dedicated their lives to service. The Hero Program is a specialized mentorship journey designed exclusively for Veterans and First Responders.
By combining advanced canine training with a "Hero-to-Hero" peer support model, we provide a mission-driven environment where healing happens through action. Participants work alongside their canine partners to master discipline and communication, while reconnecting with a community that truly understands their experiences. This isn't just a training course—it’s a sanctuary where those who have served can find renewed purpose, decrease isolation, and build the resilience needed for the next chapter of their lives.
The human-animal bond creates a safe, non-judgmental environment that reduces isolation and fosters trust. Participants gain practical skills, emotional regulation tools, and peer support networks.
Our Specialized Programs
Hero Program
At Circle of Change, we believe the human-animal bond has the power to transform lives at any age. Our Youth LEAD Program is a tiered mentorship journey designed for youth in the Loves Park community.
By combining canine-assisted training with evidence-based wellness tools, we empower young people to navigate life's challenges with confidence. Participants move from mastering foundational dog-handling skills to stepping into leadership roles as mentors for their peers. This isn't just a dog class—it’s a space where local youth develop the emotional regulation, discipline, and leadership skills necessary to thrive.
Youth Program
The human–animal bond creates a safe, non-judgmental space that reduces isolation and builds trust—while teaching practical skills, emotional regulation tools, and peer support that lasts beyond each session.
